The iAM Project
iAM me! iAM Beautiful! iAM unique!
iAM a mother of a son with Aspergers.
Steve Jobs, whilst not officially diagnosed as having Autism or Aspergers, is an undisputed legend who, in his passing, has become a champion of these children and others – exuding certain traits that society deemed “strange” or “peculiar” but with the very traits that made this man a genius who changed the way the world turned.

The iAM Project started out as a way to give children on the autism spectrum a voice, a way for the world to understand why they are the way they are, how they feel, think and process and to foster an awareness so that they may be accepted by a society that needs to understand that EVERYBODY is different and that makes us ALL THE SAME! http://wp.me/p1L4ip-6K
But then the emails came: from kids who had been bullied because they were overweight, boys bullied because they are gay, women bullied for baring bodies that aren’t considered “mainstream”, geeks bullied because they weren’t popular and popular girls bullied because they were “too pretty”.
See: we really are all the same!
And so iDECIDED to make this project available to everyone who wants to take part. Please write, draw, photograph or film YOUR (or your loved ones) stories that make YOU unique and beautiful (an example will be uploaded soon).
Share them here (send to email below), join my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ajay.rochester#!/pages/The-iAM-Project/231311186924395 and help me spread the word to make this a world wide project and hopefully one day we may even have an exhibition or even better we might get on Ellen! Woohoo!
Most importantly I want to send a message to the world that each and every one of us is different and you never ever know who that stranger you sit next to might be, underneath the same black turtle neck sweater and tennis shoes they wore every day of the week, deciding to only have six friends at any given time, deemed “strange” but with the very peculiarity that enables them the vision to see things no one else can. You never ever know how much that precious and unique person will change the world.
Every single person deserves love and respect, no matter how peculiar they may be.
iAM Beautiful! iAM unique !iAM worthy! iAM ME!
iWILL be touring schools around the world with my interactive art project designed to illustrate the message that it is our differences that makes us the same.
